Backgammon is believed to have started in Persia, eventually finding its way to Britain with the Roman conquest in the 1st century and was played by Emperor Claudius who even had his carriage equipped with a playing board! It became such a gambling mania that it was declared illegal under the Republic.
Playing on the history of the game, there are 6 visually pleasing, rich board designs; Egyptian, Roman, Medieval, Victorian, Modern and Classic.

Love the game! Moves well. A little hard to invite friends but still worth the challenge. I play it at hardest and beat it often can you make it more challenging?
Very good game. The later versions of the game are much more competitive.
computer makes stupid mistakes. Would like it more of a challenge in hard.
I dont always play games, but when I do, I prefer Backgammon HD !

I love it and play it all the time and online theres always willing participants. The only thing that drives me nuts is the people that forfeit cause they dont have the lead.
Just play it out so your opponents can enjoy the game.
Some bad moments
everything is just predetermined. if you go blank on one stone computer always has got the right number on the dice.. bad app.
I have been playing this game often. At start up sometimes 3 tied dice throws happen. That is not reality. Also during the game, it happens frequently that dice show the exact same numbers in consecutive throws. Just now I had 3 consecutive repetitions of 4 and 1. Also frequently the computer and the human have the same numbers in consecutive throws, except for doubles. The amount of luck that the computer has is quite suspicious. Strategy-wise either the computer plays overly defensive to the point of looking timid, or to the contrary, excessively aggressive, suicide attack style.
The second star is for letting me win all the time.
Has anyone else noticed after recent updates the computer seems to cheat? Especially when doubling? Used to love it.
Bumbled traditional roles and defensive moves, coincidental dice rolls take away from what could otherwise be a challenging game. The author of this game should read the book on playing gammon. Very nice graphics though. Gammon is however, all about honesty and winning the game by fudging the dice rolls proves nothing.
Not pleased with it...the board freezes and you end up forfeiting to get out of it.
This is my second review and I am giving it only one star! This game freezes frequently, not just for me but for other players as well. It needs to be fixed.....Im looking for a better backgammon app!
Way too many doubles. Many impossible wins for me and the computer.
Im downgrading my review to 1 star. Dont waste your money on this one. It seems the game is programmed to win a fixed number of times and the computer will roll whatever it needs to win. Very frustrating and totally unrealistic.
